Small Gestures That Made Me Smile
When I browse Etsy, I often find myself surrounded by clip art.
There are so many styles, themes, and characters that it’s easy to keep scrolling.
I create digital clip art myself, so I tend to look with a slightly critical eye.
But this one stopped me immediately.
It wasn’t about how polished it was.
It was the mouse.
The tiny gestures—
the way it stands, turns, pauses—
felt unexpectedly gentle.
Not exaggerated, not overly cute, just quietly expressive.
The illustrations come with transparent backgrounds,
which instantly made ideas start to form.
I imagined printing one on a small card,
slipping it into a gift as a personal touch.
Then another thought followed.
What if it were printed on a T-shirt?
Simple, soft, something a child might love.
And then—matching ones, for parent and child.
The mouse felt less like an illustration
and more like a little presence.

見ているだけで愛おしくなる、マウスのクリップアート
Etsyを眺めていると、
本当にたくさんのクリップアートが並んでいます。
私自身もデジタルクリップアートを制作・出品しているので、
つい目が厳しくなりがちなのですが、
これは一瞬で目に留まりました。
理由は、とても単純です。
ネズミが、可愛い。
大げさなポーズではなく、
ちょっとした立ち方や向き、間の取り方。
子ネズミのしぐさそのものが、
なんとも言えず愛おしく感じられました。
背景が透明なPNGも含まれているので、
素材としての使い道も自然と浮かんできます。
最初に思ったのは、
カードに印刷して、
プレゼントにそっと添えたらどうだろう、ということ。
それから、
Tシャツにプリントしたら可愛いだろうな、と。
標準的な商用利用ができるそうなので、
親子おそろい、なんていうのも楽しそうです。
イラストというより、
小さな存在のように感じました。
デジタルダウンロードなので、
思いついたときにすぐ使えるのも嬉しいところ。
